Somerset House Studios presents ASSEMBLY, five days of sound and performance extolling the best in contemporary electronic and experimental music and the makers behind it. Bringing together Studios artists, international talent and forward-thinking audiences, ASSEMBLY’s multi-disciplinary programme presents newly commissioned works alongside several first performances and UK premieres.

We were asked to create a identity for the event which would stretch across print, digital and social channels to engage the audience with experimental and progressive visuals that complimented the work of the artists playing; the solution needed to live both on the digital interface and in the space of the event.

Our graphic response is reflective of the nature of the event itself; a visual celebration of the tension between the machine generated and the organic. We deconstructed biological and architectural forms and brought them into motion with procedural systems of flocking, scaling and skewing in generative rhythms to the sounds of the artists featured.
